Psychotherapy is a form of mental health treatment that involves managing emotional difficulties and life transitions, challenging negative narratives and beliefs, while supporting personal growth and self-awareness.

01. What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a regulated profession in the province of Ontario and several other regions within Canada. This means that those practicing under this title must meet certain academic and experiential requirements in order to be licensed under the governing body.

In Ontario, psychotherapists are regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and include several stages of licensing for those both beginning and continuing within the profession.

I am a licensed psychotherapist of ‘Qualifying’ status. This means that I have completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree and am currently working under the supervision of a more experienced (also fully licensed) psychotherapy professional as I continue to gain clinical hours and prepare to write the full licensing exam.

I am also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

02. Are you licensed to practice psychotherapy?

At this time, I only offer virtual services.

03. Do you provide in-person sessions?

I can virtually support clients from many different regions in Canada. If you live outside of Ontario, please contact me for more information!

04. Do you only service clients in Ontario?

REQUEST MORE INFORMATION

Absolutely, but I always recommend that you double check with your insurance policy prior to beginning any services. Check to see if your policy covers “Registered Psychotherapist” also known as RP’s. It could also fall under the designation of “Psychotherapy”, “Counselling”, or “Mental Health.” Most policies cover one of these designations.

05. Can I use insurance to cover this service?

BOOK A FREE CONSULTATION

Yes, I definitely do. Furthermore, I encourage them. It’s incredibly important to feel comfortable with the person who is walking alongside you during this process and a consultation is a great way to get to know each other a bit better and answer more of your questions.

The first session is a gentle starting point, a space to begin getting to know each other at a pace that feels comfortable for you. It’s completely natural to feel a bit unsure or nervous at first, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before you arrive. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you’d like about what’s bringing you in, and there’s no pressure to find the “right” words. My role is to listen with care, ask thoughtful questions, and help create a space where you can feel at ease. Together, we begin to get a sense of what feels important and how we might move forward.

07. What can I expect in the first session?

SEND A MESSAGE

Yes, I use a number of different therapeutic methods including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

That said, from my experience it's more important to find a therapist that is a good fit rather than one who specializes in a specific treatment method. The treatment plan will be tailored to you and the challenges that you are facing and may involve multiple therapeutic approaches. Please reach out if you have any questions.

08. Do you use other therapeutic approaches?

I currently charge $130 per 60-minute session.

09. How much does psychotherapy in Ontario cost?

BOOK A FREE CONSULTATION

Sessions are typically 60 minutes, offering enough space to explore what matters without feeling rushed.

I usually suggest weekly sessions to start and then we can transition to once or twice a month depending on your schedule. Life isn't always predictable, so you can book sessions online when you need to chat depending on my availability.

10. How long are sessions? How often should I come?
